Northrop Grumman awards Invocon with 2019 World Class Team Award
Invocon, Inc.—a Veteran-Owned Small Business founded in 1986 and based just outside of Houston, TX—was awarded the 2019 World Class Team Award by Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) under its supplier diversity program. Nominated by Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems (NGIS) sector, Invocon was recognized for their resilience in supporting the Northrop Grumman MRBM T3c2 program with designing, manufacturing, and performing full Qualification and Environmental Testing of the Hit Detection Systems (HDS). NGIS noted, “Invocon has been tested with challenges time after time under the MRBM T3c2 program due to the highly developmental nature of the program. They have accepted every challenge, and as a small business, they have excelled remarkably with quality performance, a highly qualified design, and unparalleled support. … Invocon’s contributions to the program, the company, and the war fighter have been invaluable.” HDS are lethality assessment systems integrated into the target vehicle that identify the exact first hit point and subsequent damage progression as a killer missile impacts the target. Invocon has also continuously refined and enhanced the HDS to adhere to the strict requirements of the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Target System Performance Specification. These are extremely complex and mission critical systems for the program.
