Lithium Smart Battery

The Invocon 28V Rechargeable Smart Battery uses modern lithium-ion polymer battery technology. Lithium-ion polymer batteries have one of the highest energy storage and power delivery densities (per weight) of modern batteries. This enables longer operation between charging and dependable operation of high current electrical loads or inrush currents without startup sequencing.

Li-poly batteries require control circuitry to manage the charging and discharging profiles. This circuitry is built into the battery system to make it “smart”, allowing for direct replacement of simple older batteries without upgrading to special chargers. The Invocon Smart Battery is designed for mission critical applications. A microprocessor continuously measures key battery parameters and provides this information on communication ports. Additionally, State of Charge (SOC) is continuously calculated and presented providing awareness of the battery’s state in order to insure sufficient mission power and reliability.

Available Configuration Options:

Flight Mode

The Flight Mode feature is enabled either via software or by an external circuit. When enabled this feature will prevent the battery output from turning off in the event the BMS detects a fault. This feature can be added to the 7.5 AHr battery only.

Auto-Charge

Auto-charge is available as an option on the batteries and enables the batteries to automatically start charging when the appropriate charging voltage is detected on the charge lines.

Multiple Communication Interface Options

Each of the Smart Batteries can be configured to support one of the following: RS-232, RS-422, or Ethernet.
